Alcohol during menstrual period? Alcohol help cramps?

“It’s been a rough, a rough year, really rough year”, by Larry Phillips.

With festive season coming, it’s time for us to sit back and relax for a bit.  What’s better than sharing a bottle of wine with families, friends and LOL.

But wait, can we have alcohol during period cycle? Will it make the PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) more intense?

According to doctors, the simple answer is “NO, NO, NO! It’s best to avoid it”.

Alcohol increases urination and cause dehydration, it increases the blood concentration and thickens the mucus, lengthening the period blood to pass out of the body.

Alcohol will cause mood swing, worsening the PMS and intensify period cramps.  Also, as alcohol increases urination and cause dehydration, it increases the blood concentration and thickens the mucus, lengthening the period blood to pass out of the body.

Having said that, if drinking of alcohol is still of interest to you during period cycle, we recommend drinking a lot of water (preferably hot water) in tandem, as it could keep you hydrate and counter the situation.

This year might be a rough year or a little bumpy, but hang on and we surely will get over with it.  Cheers!
