Can heating pads ease period cramps and menstrual pain?

Many sisters have tried to use heating pads to ease period cramps.  In the absence of heating pads, we even use hot water bottles as a warm compression.  Are you still using it after grown up? Does it really work from the beginning?  What’s the magic behind?

In general, scientifically, heat can increase blood flow and reduce pain, no matter it is an abdomen, lower back or menstrual pain.  In some cases, it can also relax the uterine contractions, therefore releasing the pain.
